• Bistro Francais (Georgetown) 

This classic French bistro is the perfect late night spot, whether you’re coming from a show, or just prefer to eat your food while sitting down.  Either way, the steak sandwich is hard to beat at 2am.

Hours:

Monday, Thursday, & Sun open until 3am.

Friday & Saturday open until 4am.

• Five Guys Hamburgers (Georgetown)

No introduction is needed for Five Guys.   Just don’t sleep on the fries.

Hours:  Friday & Saturday open until 4:00am.

Location:  1335 Wisconsin Ave. NW  (between Dumbarton Ave & N St).

• Kramerbooks and Afterwords (Dupont Circle)

Hours:  7:30 AM – 1:00 AM Daily, Friday a& Saturday opend open 24 Hours.

Location:  1517 Conn. Ave., NW  (Just Above Dupont Circle/Across from Dupont Circle ‘Q’ St Metro).

• Julia’s Empanadas (Dupont Circle/Adams Morgan) 

If you crave food that’s hot, fried, and delectable (who doesn’t at 2am?) Julia’s Empanadas is the place.

Friday & Saturday open until 4am.

• The Diner (Adams Morgan)

It’s the best place in Adams Morgan to grab a late bite, if you don’t mind a long wait.

• Steak ‘n Egg Kitchen (Wisconsin Ave)

Osman & Joe’s Steak ‘n Egg Kitchen is where you can sit on a bar stool and enjoy classic diner food.   Great outdoor seating and service.

Hours:  Open 24/7.

Location:  4700 Wisconsin Ave. NW.

• Ben’s Chili Bowl  (U Street)

If 50 years of serving customer satisfaction means anything, Ben’s is a good call.

The annual Duke Ellington Jazz Festival kicks-off today in DC, through June 15.  Highlights of the festival include two free Jazz on The National Mall concerts June 13-14; the return of the popular Jazz in the ‘Hoods and Brunchin’ in the ‘Hoods, which features performances at over 35 restaurants, clubs, hotels and art galleries across the city; and the free Jazz ‘n Families Fun Days, held this Saturday and Sunday (June 6-7):

  At Jazz ‘n Families Fun Days, families will interact with instruments in the instrument petting zoo, listen to jazz geared toward younger listeners, enjoy a lively storyteller, and dabble in a hands-on art-making workshop. Participants also will encounter superb works of art in an intimate setting and enjoy the Young Artists exhibition, which features photographs and collages created by students after exploring Jacob Lawrence’s The Migration Series.

Event:  Jazz ‘n Families Fun Days (June 6-7)

Wouldn’t you like to visit Australia, Costa Rica, or Japan for free?   If so, DC on a Dime has found the next best thing. 

Cultural Tourism DC invites you to visit a few hidden DC treasures – embassies!  Starting today through May 9, there will be events at embassies throughout the city (open to the public) where you can experience the culture of foreign food, dance,  music, and crafts.  The main event, however, will be the “open house” on May 2,  where 30 embassies will open their doors from 10 am - 4 pm.  

Cultural Tourism DC will provide free shuttles on May 2 from 10 am - 4 pm. Three shuttles will leave from 1900 Massachusetts Avenue, NW (Dupont Circle) and will loop Massachusetts Avenue, Connecticut Avenue, and lower New Hampshire Avenue.
